We can now send satellites to take pictures of any place in the world.

We read your suggestions and polled four popular options on Twitter: Jiangnan Shipyard in China, Vatia Air Force Base in Libya, U.S. Army Base in Diego Garcia, and La Palma in the Canary Islands, Spain volcano.

Below are the options, please vote for any location you want us to take!

We only plan to take one of the photos-the winner, the result is Al Watiyah Air Force Base.

However, we really like your suggestions, so we decided to include them all.

Planet Labs has identified La Palma as a location of interest and released images of the volcano, so we don't need to use a mission for that location. Only the other three are left to capture.

As far as we know, this is the first time crowdsourcing has been used to collect satellite mission targets and then provide them to everyone.

Military air bases related to Turkey’s activities in Libya are mainly used to transport cargo. There have been rumors that there are plans to host F-16 fighter jets at the base, but so far no concrete evidence has emerged. The picture was taken on October 4, 2021. If possible, Diego Garcia port looks at the contents of the port and infers what is outside the port.

This island chain in the Indian Ocean is an overseas territory of the United Kingdom and has a large American military base of strategic importance. In the 1960s and 1970s, the original inhabitants of these islands, the Chagoss, were forcibly evicted to make way for the base. The picture was taken on October 8, 2021. La Palma, Canary Islands. There is an erupting volcano there.

With the eruption that began on September 19, 2021, the huge lava flowing from this growing volcano destroyed everything they had touched and reshaped the island’s geography. The picture was taken on September 26, 2021. Planet Labs has released pictures of this eruption, which can be seen here.
