His London-based CQS operation has £9bn under its wing and in 2016 saw its main fund rise by 30.5%, making it one of the best performing vehicles globally. Profits surged to £88.6m on £181.3m turnover in the same period, when almost £50m of dividends were paid out, the bulk of them received by majority owner Hintze.
