Actor Shah Rukh Khan, fondly known as Bollywood's King Khan, turns 56 today. SRK, who started performing in theatre while finishing his schooling, is now one of the most well-known names in the film industry. Khan began his career with television series in late 1980s and made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with 'Deewana'. With films like 'Baazigar', 'Darr' and 'Anjaam', SRK made antagonists of films look good on the silver screen. The actor acieved massive praise and fame for his performances in films such as 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', 'Mohabbatein', 'Swades', 'Devdas' and more. So it comes as no surprise that Khan has numerous accolades including 14 Filmfare Awards, a Padma Shri, and Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and Legion of Honour awarded by the government of France.
